Lynne Polley
After attending a liberal arts college in Connecticut, Lynne received an A.S. Degree in Advertising Design in Florida. Lynne embraced a career as a graphic designer and illustrator. Always on a serious pursuit of painting in oils, Lynne took the path of self directed study, exploring plein air painting while producing larger works in her Orlando studio. Lynne’s award winning work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the south, northeast and Pacific Northwest. Drawn to the beauty one can only find outdoors, she continues to respond to nature and has studied with some of the nations best contemporary plein air artists.
Artist’s Statement
I have always found solace in quiet places, and I am still in pursuit to better my ability to paint what I love, that being the landscape. Painting outside, and being able to observe my surroundings gives me the mood and inspiration I need to create a painting. The changing seasons are an endless gift of light and shadow resulting in my connection with the art and the viewer.

Influences
I would like to mention an array of artists I admire, but I have always felt that I had a responsibility to be the best painter I can be because of my family. My grandmother was denied her calling in the 1920's, being told a woman was not worthy of an education. She became an extraordinary painter and sculptor later in life and became a valued member of the Lyme Art Academy in Connecticut. Subsequently, my late Uncle John was also an illustrator and painter, and is a lifetime member of the Arts Student's League of New York. My mother was also an accomplished photographer with a darkroom that graced our laundry room. Mom's uncle was a Professor of Architecture at the University of Miami, and has a wing of that school named for his archives. I have had the luxury of the pursuit of my craft and I thankful of that every day.
