My work often visually and conceptually addresses "the double". It abstractly externalizes my history as someone who has gone through life with an identical sister. It explores the notion of encountering another version of myself.
Artist’s Statement
Photography is my passion. Years ago, my first glimpse into photography I knew it's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Now it’s not only my profession to shoot it has become an obsession to discover, explore, and reveal what I feel through art.
I analyze and psychoanalyze the photographic image, investigating how photography renders an experience or human body as an object and allows interaction with this object.
Fascinated by ways photographic images can evoke an experience with the sublime, I search for locations and compositions that bring about a similar experience.
My work often visually and conceptually addresses the idea of the pair, abstractly externalizing my personal history as someone who has gone through life with an identical sister, and explores the notion of encountering the “double”.
Often fixating on blue, black, and recently white, alluding to experiences of confronting infinity, my figurative and abstract work is centralized on themes involving an experience with the aesthetic sublime, an encounter with the incalculable, and investigation of self-awareness.
