Your Experience! Your Afternoon Tea experience will start with a refreshing “Welcome!” mimosa (on us!) and a fun, activity-based, self-guided tour of the gallery (optional).
Seating Time We encourage everyone in your party to be early or on time to enjoy all that our Tea Time as to offer. Regardless of late arrivals, your afternoon tea experience will last 1.5 hours from seating time.
Group Seating If you are part of a group and are purchasing your ticket individually, please let us know the name of your party so we can be sure to seat everyone in your group together.
Dress Code “Tea Room Chic” is encouraged This is the place to dress for elegance and fun! We often see guests wear lovely dresses, hats or fascinators and even gloves! We will have an assortment of fascinators available for your guests to purchase.
Fascinating Fascinators (Those tiny hats with flowers, netting and sometimes surprising, fun froufrou and frills!) The Tea Room is the PERFECT place to wear a fascinator! Don’t have one? Gorgeous fascinators in every color are available for purchase in The Tea Room.
Children in the Tea Room Tea Time at The Gallery 32789 is a wonderful way to introduce children to the historical tradition of Afternoon Tea and to an art gallery. As we are an art gallery with original pieces of art throughout, we welcome well-mannered children ages 6 and older. Please let us know the number of children and their ages when you book your reservation so we may plan for the best experience for you, your child or children and the other guests in The Tea Room!

Food Allergy Notice Food and drinks served may contain milk, eggs, wheat, soybean, nuts and fish. We do not allow outside food to be brought into the gallery.
Parking Parking is available behind our building complex, called Brandywine Square, and on Park Avenue and on side streets Swoope Avenue and Canton. There is also a parking garage accessible from Canton Avenue.
Capacity Our Tea Room can seat 36 guests.
Reservation Changes. To make a change to your reservation, please let us know no less than 3 days prior. If you advise us within 3 days of your reservation that a member of your party is unable to attend, their experience must still be paid for. You may either have the extra food served during your visit or boxed to take home and enjoy later. To change your reservation, email us.
Cancellation Policy You may cancel your reservation up to 3 days before your reservation start time for a refund. After that time, reservation payments are non-refundable. To cancel your reservation, email us.
How Did the Tradition of Afternoon Tea Get Started? In the late 1800’s, the Duchess of Bedford, Anna Maria Russell, was one of Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting. Feeling a bit peckish between lunch and the very late dinners that had become the fashion of the upper classes due to the invention of electric lighting, she began inviting her friends to have tea, sandwiches and cakes.
