Treasured Tea Time Moments
The deliciousness of time spent together over a cup of tea. These are treasured moments I cherish. My beautiful mother and I loved tea time whether in a tea room at a fancy hotel, an art museum or at our kitchen table, tea time was always a special time to put the world on hold, chat and giggle together and simply enjoy each other’s company. Valentine’s Day is a most special day to enjoy tea time together with friends and loved ones.

How Did the Tradition of Afternoon Tea Get Started? In the late 1800’s, the Duchess of Bedford, Anna Maria Russell, was one of Queen Victoria’s ladies-in-waiting. Feeling a bit peckish between lunch and the very late dinners that had become the fashion of the upper classes due to the invention of electric lighting, she began inviting her friends to have tea, sandwiches and cakes. Afternoon Tea quickly flourished into a national, and now international, treasured tradition. Read more.
