12 X 12 X 1.5 inches
Acrylics, wax pastels, and collage on gallery wrapped canvas
In my ongoing exploration of wings as a subject, I came across a bird called the Sunbittern whose unique wing markings rival those of a butterfly. The bird is a drab brown when its wings are folded; it must be startling when these bold colors are revealed!
Layers of paint, paper, and open weave fabrics combine to celebrate one of nature’s amazing patterns.
