The scene is in Central Florida where the University of Florida laid its first corner stone before moving to Gainesville . The sculling team first competed in Coastal Rowing on the Banana River. The canal was hand dug. Today this scene is along the river on private property in Old Eau Galle which is part of Melbourne, FL.It still looks very much like it did back in the latter 1800's
