The simple composition in this painting allows the focus to be on the textures, patterns, and details in the painting to hold the interest and frame the horizon. The trampoline and the rope of the rigging are done in pencil over an oil wash to preserve the texture of the canvas, with more oil worked around it detailing the grommets, the dive bag , sail, and the woman adorned in bright pattern and jewelry to help direct the view between the hulls and past the sail, onto the horizon and dreams of the island in the distance.
