26.5 x 36.5” Platinum Print and Cyanotype on Watercolor Paper

Edition 1/1
(digital replications available)

Cyantype is a light-sensitive process where paper or some material is treated with mixed chemistry and then exposed to light. The print is simply developed in water.

Platinum printing (or palladium printing) uses platinum metal to create an image. In this image, platinum creates the darkest shadows. Platinum printing is a multi-step process that uses many different materials in order to produce the print.

Chrysalis a the stage is when a caterpillar experiences metamorphosis into an adult, such as a butterfly. The photograph comes from a series that follows my pain crisis and recovery as I gained strength to stand and walk again. This name signifies the transformation I experienced during my healing process.
