This little gem is part of a series of small landscape paintings done in one of my favorite mediums - oil pastel. Greatly influenced by the Impressionist and Post Impressionists, I find this medium so immediate and so much fun! Just grabbing these juicy sticks of pure color and laying them down next to each other - allowing the eye to mix them in a painting - well, it never stops exciting me. I mean really, how much color is too much color?
